Political Vision

A wearable device that restricts the user's field of vision according to the political bias of different news outlets.
Year
2023
Concept
Political Vision physically visualizes the bias of news channels and how they can manipulate our political viewpoints.

The project controls the wearer's field of vision based on which news channels they interact with online - just like how news channels can purposely change our perspectives by suppressing or reinforcing certain political stances.

Technical Aspects
Political Vision consists of a hand-coded website displaying various news channels. The user can select one, and research any topic on that news outlet. The users' selection is sent to an Arduino via node.js. The Arduino operates servo motors, and is connected to a gyroscope that measures head rotation. The motors open and close panels attached to the wearable device based on their news channel selection.
